Hi, I’m Niamh
A Photographer and Creative Designer
Originally from Kildare in Ireland, but have been living in Dublin over 15 years with my husband James. I studied Art at Ballyfermot Art College, Graphic Design at DIT and Digital and Analogue Film Photography at NCAD. I have just completed studying a Masters in Fine Art Photography in Belfast and am what you call a hybird photographer, shooting in digital and film. Some of my current exhibitions include photography work in the National Gallery of Ireland, along with work on show in the Crawford Gallery in Cork, exhibiting in the Royal Ulster Academy in Belfast and the Pingyao International Photography Festival in China.
Before my Masters in Photography I had been Creative Lead and Design Director in many companies and agencies for about 15 years. I had always been drawn to photography and it has always been a part of what I do on a daily basis. I originally studied film photography as part of my Graphic Design course, spending most of this time in the dark room. (Beautiful Portrait of me by Studio Browne)
When it comes to wedding photography in particular, my studies have provided a thorough basis for conceptualising photography as a visual narrative. A way to tell your story of your day. Its classic and timeless photography based on traditional values and old masters. I utilise the natural ambience of these green shores and magical light that surrounds us on a daily basis to create your story as it unfolds. People inspire me, the human condition inspires me and our beautiful Irish landscape is my stage that allows me to act out your own unique story.
